Communication as a process, or sequence, involves a sender first transmitting information, then a receiver understanding that information, and finally one or both using the information. (That’s the heart of negotiation!) Those natural lenses of the communication process—Language, Culture, and Solutions—are not what you may think. Not language as in German or English, but the tools we use to transmit. Not culture as in Bavaria or south Texas, but how we understand the information. And not solutions as in the answers, but the means to find the answers.
